What Our Committees Are Working On
Right now our committees are focused on the work that reduces wildfire risk across San Elijo Hills — coordinating brush clearing and fuel reduction in our strategic project areas, and showing residents real examples of Zone 0 and Zone 1 home preparation (the first 30 feet around your home) so you can harden your own property.

Keeping Our Firewise Certification Active
All three zones are certified Firewise USA. We are collecting resident hours now to maintain it and keep your insurance discount in place.
Log your hoursFree Defensible Space Assessments
The San Marcos Fire Department walks your property and identifies your highest-priority Zone 0 actions. We help residents get them scheduled.
